Baseball Recap: Seminole Snaps Six-Game Streak of Losses at Home

Seminole was handed a heart-breaking two-run defeat in their last matchup, but they sure didn't let that happen against Horizon on Wednesday. Seminole was the clear victor by a 10-1 margin over Horizon. For the Seminoles, this counts as revenge for the 6-3 victory the Hawks walked away with the last time they faced one another back in April of 2024.

Dylan Chapman tossed a big game, pitching five innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. What's more, he posted three strikeouts, the most he's had since back in April of 2024.

At the plate, Brandon Simms was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-3. That's the most hits he has posted since back in February. Another player making a difference was Ethan Park, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one double.

Seminole's win ended a six-game drought at home and bumped them up to 3-16. As for Horizon, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 11-8.

Coming up, Seminole will look to defend their home field on Friday against Winter Springs at 6:00 p.m. Winter Springs' pitching crew has only allowed 2.4 runs per game this season, so Seminole's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Horizon, they will venture away from home to challenge Olympia at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
