Basketball Recap: New Deal Gets Big Win over Higher-Ranked San Saba

New Deal picked up another tournament win on Friday. They walked away with a 54-45 victory over the San Saba Armadillos. The win was all the more spectacular given the Lions' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 479th, while the Armadillos are ranked 104th).

New Deal is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 12-7 record this season. As for San Saba, their defeat dropped their record down to 15-5.

A feisty cat fight will be fought when the New Deal Lions duke it out with the Hermleigh Cardinals at 3:40 p.m. on Friday. Hermleigh's defense has only allowed 26 points per game this season, so New Deal's offense will have their work cut out for them. San Saba and Center Point will round out the year against one another at at 12:15 p.m. on Monday. San Saba is facing Center Point at the right time seeing as Center Point is stuck on a seven-game losing streak.
