Baseball Game Preview: Lincoln Trojans vs. St. Mary's Rams

For the second straight game, Lincoln will face off against St. Mary. The Trojans will welcome the Rams at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Lincoln 3.9, St. Mary's 2.6) so any runs scored will be well earned.

Lincoln took a six-run loss the last time they faced off against St. Mary's, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Trojans skirted past the Rams 5-4.

Brayden Abdon spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered four earned runs on nine hits.

At the plate, Bradley Thurman-Swanson and Taylor Tran did most of the damage at the plate: Thurman-Swanson went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double, while Tran got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base. Another player making a difference was Xavier Ayala, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI and one run.

Lincoln has been performing well recently as they've won 11 of their last 14 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-11 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for St. Mary's, their defeat dropped their record down to 19-7.
