Softball Recap: Westfield Triumphs

While Westfield's win against McCutcheon wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Rocks skirted past the Mavericks 7-5. The Rocks haven't had any issues with the Mavericks recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.

Westfield got a great performance from Mackenzie Delph as she struck out eight batters over 5.2 innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off five hits. That's the most strikeouts Delph has posted since back in May of 2025.

On the hitting side, Reese Mahannah was a standout: she went 1-for-3 with one home run and four RBI. Mariana Lopez also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

Westfield lost a few balls and finished the game with three home runs. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as McCutcheon didn't launched any.

Westfield's win bumped their record up to 13-10-1. As for McCutcheon, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 12-10.

Coming up, Westfield will face off against Zionsville at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. McCutcheon does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
