Volleyball Recap: Decatur Community Takes a Loss

Decatur Community was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of the Quinter Bulldogs. The Red Devils were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Bulldogs earlier this season, when they won 2-0.

Despite the defeat, Decatur Community saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Ella Williby had 11 digs and two aces.

Decatur Community's loss dropped their record down to 13-16. As for Quinter, they have been performing well recently as they've won 11 of their last 13 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 21-7 record this season.

Decatur Community didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 2-0 victory against St. Francis on the 11th. As for Quinter, they have also already played their next matchup, a 2-1 defeat against Dighton on the 11th.
