Recap: Fruita Monument Wildcats vs. Palisade Bulldogs
The Fruita Monument Wildcats put another one in the bag on Tuesday to keep their perfect season alive. They walked away with a 47-40 win over Palisade. Despite the victory, that was the fewest points Fruita Monument has scored all season.
Fruita Monument's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Max Orchard led the charge by dropping a double-double on 15 points and ten rebounds. Orchard hasn't dropped below two steals for 13 straight games. Jhett Wells was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with seven rebounds and four blocks.
Fruita Monument's win was their 12th straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 14-0. As for Palisade, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-9 record this season.
Fruita Monument will look to defend their home court on Friday against Grand Junction at 7:00 p.m. Grand Junction will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak. As for Palisade, they will head out on the road to challenge Glenwood Springs at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. That game will pit two of the most dominant players against one another: Sim Wenger and Hunter Howard.
