Baseball Recap: Bethlehem Comes Up Short

Bethlehem and Vernon squared off in some playoff action on Monday, but Bethlehem had to settle for second. They came up short against the Yellowjackets, falling 11-1. The Wildcats have struggled against the Yellowjackets recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost meeting.

Bethlehem's defeat dropped their record down to 4-11. As for Vernon, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-16.

Bethlehem does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Vernon, they will challenge Holmes County at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Yellowjackets' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Blue Devils have averaged an impressive 8.6 runs per game this season.
