Softball Recap: Delta Huskies vs. Thunder Mountain Falcons

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Delta had no problem doing just that on Saturday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 6-4 victory over the Thunder Mountain Falcons. The win made it back-to-back victories for Delta.

Zoe Moore was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off six hits. Moore has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive pitching appearances. Moore was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 1-for-3.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Grace White, who went 3-for-4 with three doubles, two RBI, and a run. Another player making a difference was Nadia Chernich, who scored two runs while going 2-for-2.

Delta's win bumped their record up to 24-7. As for Thunder Mountain, their defeat dropped their record down to 29-12.

Delta will be staying on the road on Saturday to face off against Kodiak at 2:45 p.m. Delta is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.6 runs per game this season. Thunder Mountain does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
