In other batting news, Calvary Baptist got a massive performance out of Zaedik Mcphail, who scored three runs and stole Three bases. while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. Mcphail is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged two or more in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Devin Debuono, who scored three runs and stole Three bases. while going 1-for-4.
Meanwhile, United Christian Academy made easy work of Crossroads Christian on Thursday and carried off a 16-5 victory.
Like Calvary Baptist, United Christian Academy also got a great game from a two-way player: Elijiah Smith. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out nine batters over five innings while giving up three earned (and two unearned) runs off five hits. Smith was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with three runs, three RBI, and one triple.
In other batting news, Cash Clawson was a standout: he scored three runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3. Nolan Campos was another key player, scoring two runs while going 3-for-3.
The win got United Christian Academy back to even at 1-1. As for Calvary Baptist, they now have a winning record of 3-2.
