Football Game Preview: Maplesville Red Devils vs. Leroy Bears + Official Tickets

Two dominant backs in Nehemiah McCary and Ja'Kavien Collins are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Maplesville Red Devils will square off against the Leroy Bears at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Maplesville's favor is that they have posted at least 31 points every time they've taken the field this season.

Maplesville is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They never let Southern Choctaw get on the board and left with a 42-0 victory. Give the Red Devils' defense some credit: that's the team's seventh straight shutout.

Pearce Yeargan produced another solid performance rushing for 59 yards and a pair of TDs, while also throwing for 128 yards on only ten passes. That's the most passing yards he has posted since back in September.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Maplesville was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 230 rushing yards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Southern Choctaw only rushed for 35.

Meanwhile, Leroy strolled into their game on Friday with a perfect record and they left with the same. They put the hurt on McKenzie with a sharp 60-38 win. Considering the Bears have won nine games by more than 21 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Leroy's win came from a few key players Maplesville will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Jace Sellers, who threw for 306 yards and two touchdowns while completing 77.4% of his passes. Keegan Giles was another major influence, as he rushed for 57 yards and ran in a TD.

Leroy didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Ayden Tolbert and Ian White.

Maplesville's record is now 13-0. As for Leroy, their record now sits at an identical 13-0.

Maplesville suffered a grim 33-8 defeat to Leroy in their previous matchup back in November of 2022. Can the Red Devils avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
