Basketball Game Preview: Turner Golden Bears vs. Lansing Lions

Turner is 1-9 against Lansing since January of 2020 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Turner Golden Bears will head out to square off against the Lansing Lions. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Turner is headed into Tuesday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game on Friday. They came up short against De Soto, falling 70-47.

Turner might have lost, but man, Tyland Mcgee was a machine: he dropped a double-double on 23 points and 12 boards. Mcgee is crushing it when it comes to rebounds: he's pulled down at least ten every time he's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Mekhi Follick, who posted eight points.

Meanwhile, Lansing was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their ninth straight loss dating back to last season. They lost to Seaman at home by a 57-43 margin. That's two games in a row now that the Lions have lost by exactly 14 points.

Lansing's defeat dropped their record down to 0-6. As for Turner, their loss dropped their record down to 1-4.

Turner didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Lansing when the teams last played back in February of 2024, but they still walked away with a 50-44 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Turner since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
