Softball Recap: Greenville's Run of Six Straight Victories Now Over

After flying high against Granite City last Saturday, Greenville came back down to earth. The Comets fell just short of the Centralia Orphans by a score of 2-0 on Monday. The contest marked the first time this year in which the Comets were not able to get on the board.

With the loss, Greenville broke their six-game winning streak and moved their record to 13-3-1. As for Centralia, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 7-1.

Looking ahead, Greenville will square off against Vandalia at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Centralia, they will face off against Cahokia at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Orphans are facing the Comanches at the right time seeing as the Comanches are stuck on a four-game losing streak.
