Football Recap: Wickenburg Comes Up Short

Wickenburg extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to ten on Friday, dropping them down to 0-9. They were outmatched by the Kingman Bulldogs and fell 62-7. The Wranglers were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 42-7.

Brayden Zuccato threw for 164 yards and one TD. Eli Heimer was his top target, picking up 126 receiving yards.

As for Kingman, their record is now 4-5. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three contests by 42 points or more this season.

It was another big night for D'ANTHONY BUSH, who rushed for 99 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only ten carries, and also threw for 183 yards and three TDs while completing 75% of his passes. He is becoming a predictor of Kingman's success: when he posts at least three passing touchdowns the team is undefeated (and 1-5 when he doesn't). Another player making a difference was MARTIN PEREZ, who picked up 72 receiving yards and one score.

Coming up, Wickenburg will face off against Page at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Wranglers will need to watch out since the Sand Devils have now posted at least 31 points in their last six games. As for Kingman, they will take on Blue Ridge at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams might be coming in a bit winded given these two teams combined for 987 yards in their previous games.
