Basketball Game Preview: Jordan Falcons vs. Northern Durham Knights

Jordan is 10-0 against Northern Durham since February of 2017 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Wednesday. The Jordan Falcons will be playing at home against the Northern Durham Knights at 6:30 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Jordan has five straight wins, Northern Durham has nine straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the court.

On Monday, Jordan really took it to Durham Academy for the full four quarters, racking up a 68-35 victory. The Falcons have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven matches by 24 points or more this season.

Jordan relied on the efforts of Caroline Masella, who went 8 of 9 on her way to 24 points, and Olivia Yancey, who went 9 for 16 en route to 20 points. Yancey's afternoon made it three games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points. Valerie-Ange Batta was another key player, putting up five points.

Jordan was working as a unit and finished the game with 13 assists. That's the most assists they've posted since back in February of 2024.

Meanwhile, Northern Durham played a tough game on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They took a blow against Chapel Hill, falling 59-5. The contest marked the Knights' lowest-scoring match so far this season.

Jordan is on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 games, which provided a nice bump to their 12-4 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 53.7 points per game. As for Northern Durham, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-7.

Everything came up roses for Jordan against Northern Durham in their previous matchup back in February of 2024, as the team secured a 60-6 win. In that contest, Jordan amassed a halftime lead of 36-4, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Wednesday.
