Football Game Preview: Llano Yellowjackets vs. London Pirates + How To Watch

Two dominant signal callers in Luke Davis and Alex Manning are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Llano Yellowjackets will face off against the London Pirates at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Llano knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 31 points or more in their past seven matchups -- so hopefully London likes a good challenge.

Llano is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Thursday. They blew past Poteet 49-14. Given the Yellowjackets' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 151st, while the Aggies are ranked 920th) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

Llano found their leader in freshman Cole Landers, who rushed for 72 yards and two touchdowns, and also picked up 34 receiving yards. Brady Kelly also helped with two TDs in total.

Llano's defense made their presence known, laying out the QB five times. In that department, Cole Kennedy was the leader with two sacks.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask London). They walked away with a 49-42 victory over Rio Hondo on Friday. The win was nothing new for the Pirates as they're now sitting on four straight.

London's win came from a few key players Llano will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Zach Tyrone, who picked up 157 receiving yards and a pair of scores. He was no stranger to the big play, connecting on a big catch that went for 54 yards. The team also got some help courtesy of Jake Castaneda, who gained 116 total yards and two touchdowns.

London's victory bumped their record up to 7-4. As for Llano, their win bumped their record up to 10-1.

Friday's contest might be decided in the trenches. Llano has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 223 rushing yards per game.
