Coginchaug Regional/East Hampton/Hale Ray played a tough matchup on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They had to suffer through a 42-6 loss at the hands of the Ellington Knights. The defeat continues a trend for the Blue Devils in their meetings with the Knights: they've now lost three in a row.

A big part of Ellington's win came down to the chemistry between Aaron Ladr and his top target Mattox Dimovski. Ladr rushed for 30 yards and two touchdowns while Dimovski gained 114 total yards and a touchdown.

Coginchaug Regional/East Hampton/Hale Ray's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Ellington, they have started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.

Coginchaug Regional/East Hampton/Hale Ray will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Weaver at 6:30 p.m. on the 3rd. As for Ellington, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 54-24 victory against Sports & Medical Sciences Academy/Bulkeley/Classical Magnet on the 26th.
