Softball Recap: East Bladen Eagles vs. Clinton Dark Horses
East Bladen barely beat Clinton the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Eagles blew past the Dark Horses 17-1 on Monday. The victory continues a trend for the Eagles in their matchups with the Dark Horses: they've now won five in a row.
Gracie Edwards made a big impact no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run over five innings pitched. Edwards was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with three RBI and one run. Those three RBI gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, Niyah Wooten was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three stolen bases, four runs, and three RBI. Those four runs gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Tatum Allen, who got on base in four of her five plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and one double.
East Bladen kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Clinton only managed four hits.
East Bladen now has a winning record of 8-7. As for Clinton, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost nine of their last ten games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-13 record this season.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. East Bladen will take on East Duplin at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Clinton, they will square off against Fairmont at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Golden Tornadoes have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 7.94 runs per game on average), something the Dark Horses will no doubt try to take advantage of.
