Baseball Recap: Woodstock Academy Beats Killingly for Their Seventh Straight Victory

Woodstock Academy came tearing into Saturday's game with six straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 3.7 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 2-1 W against the Killingly Redmen. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Centaurs also won the last time the pair played back in April of 2024.

Brady Ericson made a splash while hitting and pitching. He didn't allow a single earned run while striking out 11 over five innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up a single earned run in five consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with one stolen base and two RBI. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in hits (two).

Ericson wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Matthew Hernandez, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base. Camden Nason was another, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with one run.

Woodstock Academy's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-8. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.3 runs over those games. As for Killingly, the loss snapped their winning streak at five games and leaves them with a 11-4 record.

Woodstock Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Killingly, they will welcome Fitch at 4:15 p.m. on Wednesday.
