Basketball Recap: Trinity Christian Takes a Loss

Trinity Christian was the 68-37 winner over Wood County Christian when they last played one another back in January of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. The Trinity Christian Warriors fell 59-50 to the Wood County Christian Wildcat on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, the Warriors can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' West Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 762nd, while the Wildcat are ranked 98th).

Despite the loss, Trinity Christian still got an impressive performance from Austin Porta, who went 7 for 16 en route to 20 points and four steals. Porta's evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Maddox Mousadis, who went 6 of 10 on his way to 13 points.

Trinity Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 1-9. As for Wood County Christian, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 6-4.

Trinity Christian will take on Madonna at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Wood County Christian, they will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Grace Christian at 7:00 p.m. on February 7th.
