Summer Creek is 7-2 against King since October of 2016 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Bulldogs will host the Panthers at 7:00 p.m. Both teams are coming into the contest red-hot, with Summer Creek sitting on five straight victories and King on three.
For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when Summer Creek and Atascocita meet (four straight games heading into this one) and that held true again on Friday. The Bulldogs sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 38-35 win over the Eagles.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Summer Creek to victory, but perhaps none more so than Benny Easter Jr., who picked up 222 receiving yards and three scores. With that strong performance, Easter Jr. is now averaging an impressive 105.6 receiving yards per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Noah Spinks, who threw for 501 yards and three touchdowns while completing 72.5% of his passes.
Another reason for the win was Summer Creek's imposing defensive line, which managed to get into the backfield for three sacks. The team can thank three different players for their defensive prowess: Brinley Tita, Joseph Carroll, and Anthony Thomas, who each picked up one sack apiece. Another thorn in Atascocita's side was Tita, who picked up a sack, forced one fumble, and made nine total tackles.
Meanwhile, King won against Atascocita last Friday with 70 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Friday. The Panthers really took it to Goose Creek Memorial for the full four quarters, racking up a 70-20 victory. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 58-14.
King's win came from a few key players Summer Creek will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was A'Rhiyan Montgomery, who rushed for 141 yards and a pair of TDs on only eight carries. His longest rush was for an impressive 52 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per carry total. Dionne Sims was another key player, rushing for 36 yards and four scores.
King was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 325 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 193 rushing yards in six consecutive matchups dating back to last season.
Summer Creek's win bumped their record up to 5-0. As for King, their victory bumped their record up to 4-1.
The upcoming contest will be a clash of competing strengths. Summer Creek has relied on air attacks this season and has averaged 318.4 passing yards per game. King, on the other hand, has relied on a stout run game: they average 361.4 rushing yards per game. So which strategy will prevail on Thursday? There's only one way to find out.
Everything came up roses for Summer Creek against King in their previous matchup back in October of 2024, as the team secured a 53-7 win. In that game, the Bulldogs amassed a halftime lead of 34-7, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Thursday.
