Baseball Recap: Bennington Comes Up Short

Bennington had lost five straight on the road, but on Friday they dropped their record down to 3-10 to make it six. They lost 9-1 to the Sedgwick Cardinals. Unfortunately, that's the first time they've come up short against the Cardinals this season, with their most recent defeat being a 14-0 loss on Friday.

As for Sedgwick, the win keeps they at an undefeated 16-0. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 9.5 runs this season.

For Sedgwick's part, the team relied heavily on Owen Luper, who went 3-for-4 with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Corey Crumrine, who went 1-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Sedgwick beat Bennington by a score of 14-0 later that day.
