Basketball Recap: Avon Comes Up Short

Avon was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They were six points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 68-62 heartbreaker at the hands of the Silver Creek Dragons.

Avon's defeat dropped their record down to 8-7. As for Silver Creek, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 9-2.

Avon and Silver Creek should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Indiana Rankings. Avon (ranked 30th) will meet North Central (ranked 201st) at 6:45 p.m. on Saturday. Avon is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 62.1 points per game this season. Meanwhile, Silver Creek will take on Decatur Central at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday up 182 places (16 vs. 198).
