Baseball Game Preview: Prairie Grove Tigers vs. Shiloh Christian Saints

Prairie Grove is 2-8 against Shiloh Christian since April of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Tigers will head out on the road to face off against the Saints at 5:00 p.m. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Fans were treated to a battle of the Tigers on Tuesday. Prairie Grove came out on top against Green Forest by a score of 9-6. The win was some much needed relief for Prairie Grove as it spelled an end to their five-game losing streak.

Meanwhile, Shiloh Christian had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 13 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by a 12-6 margin over the Blackhawks. The Saints might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five games by six runs or more this season.

Shiloh Christian's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 6-4. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.0 runs over those games. As for Prairie Grove, their victory bumped their record up to 6-8.

Prairie Grove might still be hurting after the 9-3 defeat they got from Shiloh Christian in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Can the Tigers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
