Baseball Recap: Eastmont Victorious

Eastmont proved they can win big on Tuesday (they won by seven) and on Friday they proved they can win the close ones too. They had just enough and edged out the Sunnyside Grizzlies 1-0. That's the fourth time they've managed to beat them this season, with their most recent win being a 8-0 victory back in April.

The result came thanks to Jack Swedburg's shutout, as he gave up just seven hits and racked up six Ks. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances.

Eastmont has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-11 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for Sunnyside, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-20.

As of now, neither Eastmont nor the Grizzlies have any future games scheduled.
