Softball Game Preview: Fountain Hills Falcons vs. Madison Highland Prep Heat

The Fountain Hills Falcons will square off against the Madison Highland Prep Heat at 3:45 p.m. on Monday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Fountain Hills had taken Scottsdale Christian Academy down for four straight games at home, but that winning streak came to an end on Friday. The Falcons came up short against the Eagles, falling 13-7.

Sammantha Hughes made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs and stole two bases while going 1-for-2. The team also got some help courtesy of Tayler Sinyella, who scored two runs while going 2-for-2.

Meanwhile, Madison Highland Prep was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 19th straight loss dating back to last season. They lost 40-19 to Highland Prep West. On the bright side, the 19- run performance marked the Heat's highest-scoring game to date.

Fountain Hills now has a losing record of 4-5. As for Madison Highland Prep, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-11.

Fountain Hills took their win against Madison Highland Prep in their previous matchup back in March by a conclusive 23-0 score. Will the Falcons repeat their success, or do the Heat have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
