Basketball Recap: Aidan Schmidl's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Preston over Hedgesville

Preston lost against Hedgesville back in December of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Preston Knights took a 47-42 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Hedgesville Eagles. The Knights have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Preston lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Aidan Schmidl, who posted nine points and seven rebounds. Another player making a difference was Aaron White, who had nine points and six boards.

Preston's loss dropped their record down to 11-9. As for Hedgesville, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-7 record this season.

Preston will square off against Elkins at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Preston will be up against Elkins' rather soft defense (which has allowed 50 points per match), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Hedgesville, they will face off against Jefferson at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
