Softball Recap: Mansfield Christian Triumphs

Mansfield Christian won the last time they faced Central Christian and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Flames walked away with a 10-6 win over the Comets. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Flames.

Bailee Nelson made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She struck out ten batters over seven innings while giving up three earned (and three unearned) runs off four hits. Nelson was also big at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI, one run, and one double. That's the most RBI she has posted since April 3rd.

In other batting news, Ayla Wilson was excellent, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run. Those two stolen bases gave her a new career-high. Kaci Pollard was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two doubles, one run, and one RBI.

Mansfield Christian's victory bumped their record up to 3-10. As for Central Christian, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-8.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Mansfield Christian will venture away from home to face off against Hiland at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Central Christian, they will head out to take on Malvern at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
