Cranston East extended their losing streak to four on Friday, dropping their season record down to 1-6 in the process. They lost 17-6 to the Cranston West Falcons. On the bright side, the six- run effort marked the Thunderbolts' highest-scoring match to date.

Damien Wholey was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he struck out seven batters over 5.1 innings while giving up three earned (and two unearned) runs off only two hits.

On the hitting side, Jeu Leon was cooking despite his team's loss, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one run and one double. He also put up a hit, which was his first of the season.

As for Cranston West, they picked up their first road victory, bumping their record up to 3-5. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for they considering their one-run performance the contest before.

On Cranston West's side, Jack Fontaine was incredible, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. Those two runs gave Fontaine a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Macauly Ash, who went 1-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double.

Coming up, Cranston East will square off against East Providence at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Townies' pitching crew has only allowed 2.5 runs per game this season, so the Thunderbolts' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Cranston West, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, an 8-5 win against Coventry on the 19th.
