Basketball Game Preview: Eagle Grove Eagles vs. North Iowa Bison

Eagle Grove and North Iowa are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2020, but not for long. Having just played yesterday, the Eagles will head out on the road to face off against the Bison at 7:45 p.m. on Friday. Eagle Grove has given up an average of 64.9 points per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Eagle Grove is headed into Friday's matchup looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fourth straight games on Thursday. They lost 82-59 to Belmond-Klemme. While losing is never fun, the Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Iowa basketball rankings (they are ranked 235th, while the Broncos are ranked 93rd).

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask North Iowa). They took down West Bend-Mallard 75-60 on Thursday.

Eagle Grove's loss dropped their record down to 5-14. As for North Iowa, their victory ended a seven-game drought on the road and puts them at 6-14.

Eagle Grove strolled past North Iowa when the teams last played back in January by a score of 67-53. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Eagles since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
