Baseball Game Preview: Amsterdam Rams vs. Queensbury Spartans

For the second straight game, Amsterdam will face off against Queensbury. The Rams will head out on the road to square off against the Spartans at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.

Things were looking good for Amsterdam after they put the first run on the board on Saturday, but unfortunately for them things went downhill from there. They fell 6-2 to Queensbury. The defeat continues a trend for the Rams in their meetings with the Spartans: they've now lost three in a row.

For Queensbury's part, Frankie Ovitt was excellent, going 1-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Jacob Hermance, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run.

The victory was the sixth in a row for Queensbury, bringing their record up to 15-1. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.5 runs on average over those games. As for Amsterdam, their loss dropped their record down to 8-8.
