Basketball Game Preview: Davis Darts vs. Lehi Pioneers

The Davis Darts will face off against the Lehi Pioneers at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Last Friday, Davis earned a 57-47 victory over Weber. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Darts.

T'Maea Eteuati and Kate Willard were among the main playmakers for Davis as the former went 9-for-20 to rack up 22 points in addition to seven boards and three steals and the latter posted 11 points along with five rebounds and four steals. Chloe Peery was another key player, putting up eight points.

Davis was working as a unit and finished the game with 13 assists. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their assist total in three consecutive games.

Meanwhile, Lehi was able to grind out a solid win over Pleasant Grove on Friday, taking the game 50-42.

Davis better keep an eye on Ellie Hill. She was instrumental in Lehi's win, going 5-for-11 en route to 12 points and four steals. Hill is becoming a predictor of Lehi's success: when she posts at least three steals the team is undefeated (and 9-10 when she doesn't). The team also got some help courtesy of Mckenzie Jepson, who earned seven points along with five boards and three steals.

Davis' victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 15-6. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 53.7 points over those games. As for Lehi, their win bumped their record up to 13-10.

Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Davis has been crashing the boards this season, having averaged 29.6 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Lehi struggles in that department as they've been averaging 26.3 boards.
