Football Recap: Dynamic Duo of Kami Vaenuku and Mavrik Chlarson Lead Tooele to Victory

A well-balanced attack led Tooele over Deseret Peak in every quarter on their way to victory on Thursday. The Buffaloes blew past the Golden Eagles 28-6. The Buffaloes not only won on Thursday, but they posted their biggest win since September 27, 2024 (when they won 42-7).

This one was won in the trenches and the lion's share of the credit has to go to Mavrik Chlarson and Kami Vaenuku. Chlarson gained 104 total yards and a touchdown while Vaenuku gained 104 total yards and a touchdown. Vaenuku didn't just play on offense: he also picked up a sack and made nine total tackles.

When it comes to explaining why Deseret Peak lost, don't look at Karter Stroyek. Despite the final result, he rushed for 84 yards and one touchdown.

The win got Tooele back to even at 2-2. As for Deseret Peak, their loss dropped their record down to 0-4.
