Baseball Recap: Murrieta Valley Comes Up Short

Murrieta Valley was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They lost 20-3 to the Yorba Linda Mustangs.

Murrieta Valley saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Nolan Hill, who scored a run while going 1-for-1. That run was Hill's first of the season. Noah Cooper was another, scoring a run and stealing two bases.

Murrieta Valley's loss dropped their record down to 2-7. As for Yorba Linda, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-7 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Murrieta Valley will be taking part in a tournament against Roosevelt at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Yorba Linda, they will take on Heritage in a tournament on Tuesday. Yorba Linda's pitchers better be ready for this one: Heritage has averaged an impressive 8.6 runs per game this season.
