Softball Recap: Stanwood Continues Home Dominance on Monday

Stanwood hadn't done well against Everett recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Monday. The Spartans never let the Seagulls get on the board and left with a 3-0 victory. The Spartans haven't had any issues with the Seagulls recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

The result came thanks to Addison Anderson's shutout, as she gave up just a hit and racked up 14 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in five consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Reagan Ryan, who went 1-for-2 with one home run.

Stanwood pushed their record up to 16-2 with the victory, which was their eighth straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for Everett, they have been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last eight contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-12 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Stanwood will host Snohomish at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Panthers will roll in looking for their seventh straight victory, something the Spartans surely won't give up without a fight. As for Everett, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Arlington at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
