Softball Recap: Sonora Raiders vs. Villa Park Spartans
It's playoff time, and Sonora had no trouble coming through when it counted. They put the hurt on the Villa Park Spartans with a sharp 8-1 win on Thursday. The Raiders not only won on Thursday, but they posted their biggest win since February 18th (when they won 14-1).

Bayle Hunnicutt made a splash no matter where she played. She struck out seven batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned run off six hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in 13 consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with one home run and three RBI. Those three RBI gave her a new career-high.

Sonora's victory bumped their record up to 17-9. As for Villa Park, their loss was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 14-15.
Looking ahead, Sonora will challenge JSerra Catholic at 3:15 p.m. on Saturday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Raiders 3.6, the Lions 1.9) so any runs scored will be well earned. Villa Park does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
