Softball Game Preview: RHAM Raptors vs. Platt Panthers

The RHAM Raptors will face off against the Platt Panthers at 3:45 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with three consecutive losses for RHAM and six for Platt.

RHAM came up short against Bristol Eastern on Wednesday, falling 19-7.

Platt couldn't beat Lewis Mills on Thursday even though they stacked seven runs on them in the fourth inning. The Panthers might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 15-9 to the Spartans, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior.

Skyler Wisniewski was cooking despite her team's loss, going 3-for-4 with two runs, one double, and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Adrienne McDonald, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs.

RHAM's loss dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Platt, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-6.

Platt's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: RHAM has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 9.8 hits per game. It's a different story for Platt, though, as they've been averaging 9.6 hits. Given RHAM's sizable advantage in that area, the Panthers will need to find a way to close that gap.

RHAM took their victory against Platt when the teams last played back in May of 2022 by a conclusive 11-4 score. Will the Raptors repeat their success, or do the Panthers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
