Pinecrest Academy and Cornerstone Prep Academy are an even 3-3 against one another since December of 2023, but not for long. The Paladins will square off against the Cougars at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Pinecrest Academy will be strutting in after a win while Cornerstone Prep Academy will be coming in after a loss.

On Tuesday, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Pinecrest Academy beat Fulton Science Academy 61-57. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Paladins.

Meanwhile, Cornerstone Prep Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch two weeks ago as the team picked up their third straight defeat. The contest between the Cougars and Excel Christian Academy didn't end well, with the Cougars falling 80-65.

Pinecrest Academy will need to focus on slowing down Simeon Greene, one of several Cornerstone Prep Academy players who made an impact when they last played. He dropped a double-double with 18 points and 11 rebounds. Greene is on a roll when it comes to boards, as he's now pulled down ten or more in each of the last four games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Seth Bledsoe, who went 7-for-14 en route to 20 points and seven rebounds.

Cornerstone Prep Academy's loss dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Pinecrest Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 2-0.

Pinecrest Academy beat Cornerstone Prep Academy 58-46 in their previous meeting back in February. Will the Paladins repeat their success, or do the Cougars have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
