After a string of 11 wins, Divine Savior Academy's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They took a blow against the Chaminade-Madonna Lions, falling 91-53. The match marked the Sharks' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Despite the defeat, Divine Savior Academy saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Joost West went 7 for 12 on his way to 16 points and eight boards. West's evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Sajoni Vargas, who posted 11 points.

Even though they lost, Divine Savior Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 16 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 13 offensive rebounds in three consecutive contests.

Jasen Lopez continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Chaminade-Madonna, going 14 of 25 en route to 34 points in addition to eight steals and five assists. That makes it three consecutive games in which Lopez has scored at least a third of Chaminade-Madonna's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Isaac Mothersill, who shot 4-for-5 from downtown and dropped a double-double on 18 points and ten assists.

Divine Savior Academy's loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 11-2. As for Chaminade-Madonna, the win was the eighth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 11-2.

Divine Savior Academy has already played their next game, a 67-50 defeat against Pembroke Pines Charter on the 11th. As for Chaminade-Madonna, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 63-61 victory against Palmetto on the 11th.
