Baseball Game Preview: Grant County Braves vs. Harrison County Thorobreds/Fillies

Grant County is 0-10 against Harrison County since March of 2017 but things could change on Wednesday. The Braves will welcome the Thorobreds/Fillies at 5:30 p.m. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Grant County 4.1, Harrison County 2.6) so any runs scored will be well earned.

Grant County's usually-dominant pitching crew will be looking to make up for Saturday's struggle, when Lloyd Memorial hitters got past them. The Braves lost 10-4 to the Juggernauts on Saturday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Braves have suffered since March 16, 2024.

Harrison County's win was their eighth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 17-2-1. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Grant County, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-4.

Wednesday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Grant County hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .368. However, it's not like Harrison County struggles in that department as they've averaged .343. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
