Softball Game Preview: Somerset Bulldogs vs. Floresville Tigers/Jaguars

Somerset hasn't had much luck against Floresville recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Bulldogs will be playing in front of their home fans against the Tigers/Jaguars at 7:00 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Last Tuesday, Somerset didn't have quite enough to beat Pearsall and fell 7-6.

Sophia Galvez put in work no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out eight batters over four innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off five hits. Galvez was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing three bases while going 1-for-3. She has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times she's played.

Galvez wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Madison Pacheco, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI and one double. Another was Karlet Sanchez, who scored a run while going 3-for-4.

Meanwhile, Floresville didn't have quite enough to beat Devine on Tuesday and fell 7-5.

Floresville's loss dropped their record down to 8-16. As for Somerset, they now have a losing record of 10-11.
