Volleyball Recap: Encampment Comes Up Short

Encampment was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat dating back to last season. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Guernsey-Sunrise Vikings. The Tigers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Vikings apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in August of 2020.

Among those leading the charge was Alexis Atwood, who had five digs and four assists.

Encampment's defeat dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Guernsey-Sunrise, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 6-7 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Encampment will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Little Snake River at 4:00 p.m. on the 23rd. After both having extra time off, Guernsey-Sunrise and Niobrara County will shake off the cobwebs and hit the court against one another at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
