Softball Recap: Oakland Catholic Snaps Five-Game Streak of Losses at Home

While Oakland Catholic's win against Ringgold wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. Oakland Catholic sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 7-6 victory over Ringgold on Wednesday. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 15-9 last Wednesday.

Kennedy Waffensmith spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered six earned runs on ten hits.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Nina Hillard, who went 2-for-3 with four stolen bases and two runs. Those four stolen bases gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Addi Crummie, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.

Oakland Catholic's win ended a five-game drought at home and bumped them up to 3-10. As for Ringgold, they are on a 21-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-15.

As of now, neither Oakland Catholic nor Ringgold have any future games scheduled.
