After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Red Hook, New Paltz was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Spackenkill Spartans a 6-0 shutout. For New Paltz, this counts as revenge for the 3-1 loss Spackenkill walked away with the last time they faced one another back in May of 2022.

Jack Maiale was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and only two hits while striking out 11 over seven innings pitched. Maiale was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.
