Basketball Game Preview: Cascade Bruins vs. Stanwood Spartans

Cascade hasn't had much luck against Stanwood recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Cascade Bruins will be playing at home against the Stanwood Spartans at 7:15 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Cascade is headed into Tuesday's match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fifth straight game on Friday. They took a blow against Lake Stevens, falling 83-53.

Meanwhile, Stanwood opened the new year with a less-than-successful 65-55 loss to Marysville Getchell. The Spartans have struggled against Marysville Getchell recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.

Cascade will need focus on slowing down Cole Williams, one of several Stanwood players who made an impact when they last played. He went 5 for 9 on his way to 13 points and eight assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Jett Brager, who went 5 of 9 on his way to 14 points.

Even though they lost, Stanwood was working as a unit and finished the game with 19 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Stanwood's defeat dropped their record down to 1-10. As for Cascade, their loss dropped their record down to 2-7.
