Baseball Recap: Jefferson West Continues Home Dominance on Thursday

Jefferson West waltzed into their match on Thursday with five straight wins... but they left with six. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 7-6 W against the Nemaha Central Thunder. Seven seems to be a good number for the Tigers as the squad scooped up a win with the same number of runs in their previous game.

Cooper Watkins was a major factor no matter where he played. He tossed seven innings while giving up four earned (and two unearned) runs off six hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in 11 consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

In other batting news, Ryan Pressler was excellent, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. That's the most hits he has posted over his last 11 games. Andrew Beilman was another key player, going 1-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.
