Basketball Recap: Wendover Comes Up Short

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Wendover can now relate to. The matchup between the Wendover Wildcats and the Panguitch Bobcats didn't end well, with the Wendover Wildcats falling 63-46. While losing is never fun, the Wildcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Utah basketball rankings (they are ranked 117th in Utah, while the Bobcats are ranked 33rd in Utah).

Panguitch's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Remme Chappell led the charge by going 8-for-14 en route to 18 points and seven boards. Chappell is also on a roll when it comes to field goal percentage, as he's posted one of at least 46% in the last nine games he's played. Another player making a difference was Daxton Miller, who dropped a double-double with 13 points and 14 rebounds.

Wendover dropped their record down to 8-17 with the defeat, which was their sixth straight on the road. As for Panguitch, the victory was the 11th in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 22-3.

Wendover has already played their next contest (against Wayne), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Panguitch, they have already played their next game, a 53-32 win against Tintic on the 27th.
