Baseball Recap: Emery/Weiner Starts Season with Win Against West Houston Homeschool

Emery/Weiner gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Thursday. They skirted past the West Houston HomeSchool Thunder 11-10. The win was some much needed relief for Emery/Weiner as it spelled an end to their four-game losing streak dating back to last season.

Bennett Grossman was excellent, scoring a run while going 2-for-4. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in hits (two). Another player making a difference was Eloosha Goott, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.

West Houston HomeSchool's loss dropped their record down to 3-2.

Emery/Weiner will square off against Ellis County Christian Homeschool Organization at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. West Houston HomeSchool has already played their next game (against Cypress Christian), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
