Football Recap: Wells Comes Up Short on the Road Against Sierra Lutheran + How To Watch

Wells had to hit the road for their first game and it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They received a blow on Saturday as they fell 38-21 to the Sierra Lutheran Falcons. Sadly, the loss continues a streak the team started last season, making it four in a row.

Despite the defeat, Wells saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Justice Nelson picked up 45 receiving yards and two scores.

Wells didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Joe Dahl and Max Dahl.

Leading Sierra Lutheran to victory were Gianni Gabriel and Lyric Williams. Gabriel gained 167 total yards and three touchdowns, while Williams threw for 127 yards and three touchdowns. Gabriel got the majority of those rushing yards when he took off on a run that went for an incredible 78 yards.

Wells didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 26-13 loss against Carlin on the 28th. As for Sierra Lutheran, they have also already played their next game, a 21-0 win against Plumas Charter on the 28th.
