Football Game Preview: Jordan Panthers vs. Cabrillo Jaguars

Jordan is on a four-game streak of home losses, and Cabrillo a four-game streak of away losses. However, someone's due for a change in luck on Thursday. The Jordan Panthers will host the Cabrillo Jaguars at 7:00 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

For some reason, the away team has come away with the win the last four times Jordan and Woodrow Wilson have met, but the home crowd finally got their W on Friday. The Panthers took a blow against the Bruins, falling 49-12. While losing is never fun, the Panthers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California football rankings (they are ranked 605th, while the Bruins are ranked 116th).

Meanwhile, Cabrillo fell victim to Long Beach Poly and their airtight defense on Friday. They were beaten by the Jackrabbits 72-0.

Cabrillo's loss dropped their record down to 1-8. As for Jordan, their defeat dropped their record down to an identical 1-8.

Jordan took their win against Cabrillo when the teams last played back in November of 2024 by a conclusive 47-21 score. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was the Jaguars' Antonio Elam, who rushed for 125 yards and one TD on only 11 carries. Now that he won't be playing on Thursday, will it be easier for the Panthers to walk away with another win? There's only one way to find out.
