Volleyball Recap: Rhea County Extends Winning Streak to Three

Rhea County waltzed into their game on Thursday with two straight wins... but they left with three. Everything went their way against the McMinn County Cherokees as they made off with a 3-0 win. The Golden Eagles have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Cherokees, too.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-13, 25-18, 25-13.

Rhea County can attribute much of their success to Kindale Rumer, who had 14 assists and three digs. Ella Kelley also deserves some recognition as she had her first kill of the season.

Rhea County was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 11 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least six aces every time they've taken the court this season.

Rhea County's victory bumped their record up to 7-2. As for McMinn County, they dropped their record down to 0-2 with the loss, which was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Coming up, Rhea County will head out to challenge Walker Valley at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday. As for McMinn County, they will be playing at home against Tellico Plains at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
